The Yobo Spirit House Announces the Addition of Lisa Bull as its Chief Marketing Officer and Partner

The Yobo Spirit House Announces the Addition of Lisa Bull as its Chief Marketing Officer and Partner

Lisa Bull joins the Yobo Spirit House as Chief Marketing Officer and Partner. A seasoned marketing veteran hails from esteemed marketing companies like Viacom where she served as its Vice President of Global Marketing, Paramount Global, Classic Media, (RED), and the Tyra Banks Company. Beyond her professional endeavors, Lisa is dedicated to supporting women and diverse talent in media, marketing and tech through organizations like She Runs It, Asians in Advertising, FutureNow Media and GenHERation.
In her new role, Lisa will oversee marketing strategy and implementation across Yobo’s entire portfolio, which includes Yobo Soju Luxe, Kish Apéritif by Kristen Kish, KTOWN Soju, and Hunni Soju. The hire follows Yobo’s most recent strategic hire, Claire Mosteller, who joined the organization as Brand Director and Partner leading sales, account management, and field marketing in the Northeast.
“Lisa’s entertainment background and expertise in marketing make her an incredible asset to our organization. While soju and Asian/Asian-American spirits as a whole are on the rise in the U.S., there’s still so much to be done in building up our story,” says John Noe, CEO of the Yobo Spirit House. “Being the consummate challenger in this category is not an easy thing to do, but I know we’re building the right team to do it.”
In getting to know Lisa better, we asked her a few questions:

What was your favorite book?

I loved Crying at H Mart by Michelle Zauner. I related to her story about the loss of her mother and feeling caught in between her Korean and American heritage.  I got to see her at a book talk in my town last May and it was incredible to hear her stories as an author and a musician (Japanese Breakfast).

What is your all-time favorite restaurant in NYC?

Nobu—a true classic!

What is your current favorite NYC restaurant?

It’s hard to select just one, so a few of my favorites are Momofuku Noodle Bar, Pastis and Blue Ribbon Sushi.

What are your favorite bars in the city?

Dear Irving, Gramercy (fun atmosphere and creative cocktails), Rolf’s (it’s a gem, especially during the holidays with all of the lights), Jimmy’s Corner (a dive bar in Times Square that makes you feel like you are miles away from NYC); Holiday Cocktail Lounge in the East Village (a great classic neighborhood bar)

What kind of music did you listen to growing up?

I listened to a variety of genres including hip hop, rock, classical (I was a classical violin and piano player) and indie rock.

What is your go-to way to wind down at the end of the day?

Taking my dog Cromwell out for a walk after a pilates or hot yoga class.  I find slowing down w/ moderate physical activity helps me relieve stress from the day.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a part of the Yobo family? Why did you join Yobo? And why now?

As a Korean-American adoptee, I was inspired by Carolyn’s founder story. I have always felt caught in between my American and Korean cultures. I joined Yobo to contribute to the growth of a brand founded by a Korean American woman that honors both cultures.   I am excited about the growth of the soju spirits category and being part of the incredible team to elevate soju to the next American classic spirit.

Describe your ideal setting for drinking soju?

I love drinking soju when I am at dinner with friends.

What is your go-to cocktail?

I like a clean, refreshing cocktail, with a little kick, so my go-to is tequila  the rocks with jalepenos, seltzer and a lime.

Do you have any unexpected or unusual hobbies?

Altruism is really important to me. I carve time out  to volunteer with local and national organizations that elevate women and marginalized groups in business and their local communities.  I also recently joined the board of Asians in Advertising and One Warm Coat this year.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

As a New Jersey native, I usually lean into a few different Bon Jovi songs like Livin’ on a Prayer and Wanted Dead or Alive. It’s a lot of fun and the crowd usually jumps in to sing the chorus.
